According to a study that considered global ports as a complete system.
China is expected to have nine of the 20 main container ports in the world by the end of this year, according to a forecast report published by the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), reports china.org.cn.
Among the top 20 ports, the port of Shanghai will have the best performance capacity by 2022. China Science Daily added in this regard that most of China's container ports have a growing demand for maritime transport services in the ports of Ningbo-Zhoushan, Qingdao and Tianjin.
The volume of containerized maritime transport is affected by many factors. Compared to regression analyses and econometric models, the researchers considered global ports as a complete system, taking into account the global economy, commercial situations and the development of the shipping industry, said Wang Shouyang, director of the Center for Forecasting Sciences at CAS, who published the report.
Although the global container transport industry is slowing down in 2022, China's container transport remains the basis for stable global development, said CAS professor Xie Gang.
